Amicus is a compelling indie-folk band hailing from Indiana, a state with a rich and diverse musical heritage. The band is anchored by the creative partnership of S. Lynn Murray and J. Richard Murray, whose collaborative spirit and distinctive styles have produced a sound that is both authentic and emotionally resonant. Their music is a tapestry woven from the threads of Americana and traditional folk, characterized by heartfelt compositions and a profound lyrical depth.
The Artists Behind the Music
J. Richard Murray is the band's Indiana-based collaborator, and a key figure in its creative output. His musical journey is marked by a unique long-distance partnership with Daniel Curzon of San Francisco. Together, they form the project known as "Ida Vano L.A. Music." This collaboration, despite the two having never met in person, showcases a modern approach to music creation, proving that geographical distance is no barrier to artistic synergy. Their online-driven partnership is a testament to the power of shared vision and technological connection in the contemporary music landscape.
S. Lynn Murray brings a powerful and grounded presence to Amicus. Also based in Indiana, her life and work extend beyond the musical sphere. She has served with distinction as a judge for the Howard County Circuit Court since 1995, a role that speaks to her dedication to public service and community. This dual life—navigating the solemnity of the courtroom and the expressive world of music—lends a unique perspective to her artistry, imbuing the band's music with a sense of purpose and a deep understanding of the human condition.
The Sound of Amicus
The music of Amicus stands out for its blend of Americana and folk influences. Their compositions often feature acoustic instrumentation, rich harmonies, and storytelling lyrics that evoke a sense of place and personal history. The interplay between S. Lynn and J. Richard creates a dynamic that is both intimate and expansive. Their songs feel like a conversation, inviting listeners into their world with a collaborative spirit that is the hallmark of their work.
Amicus contributes significantly to Indiana's vibrant indie music scene, offering a sound that is both a nod to the past and a fresh take on the genre. Their heartfelt compositions and unique collaborative model make them a noteworthy duo, leaving an impression with every note and lyric.

Daniel Gray, a passionate pop musician originally from New Orleans, discovered his love of music at an early age. Performing as young as seven, he was immersed in the city’s rich musical and cultural traditions. As a teenager, songwriting became more than just a creative outlet—it was a form of therapy. After his family was displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Daniel began channeling his emotions into lyrics, finding healing and purpose through music. These deeply personal roots continue to shape his identity as an artist and define the authenticity behind every song he creates.
At 22, Daniel released his debut album Invictus, produced by multi-platinum engineer Mark Berry. The album, whose title means “unconquerable” in Latin, is a genre-blending showcase of Daniel’s talent, combining dance/pop, ballads, and rock influences. High-energy tracks like “Lost & Found” and “Bombastic” reflect his theatrical stage presence, while “Cast Away” delivers a raw emotional tribute to his post-Katrina journey. With Invictus, Daniel broke genre barriers, crafting what he calls his “spoiled brat” album—a daring mix of everything he loves in music, delivered with honesty and flair.
Beyond his music career, Daniel is also the founder of Stryker Brown Entertainment, a dynamic production company that has grown into a full-service record label, talent agency, and creative media brand. He’s currently producing a youth-driven, politically edgy web series under the Stryker Brown name, further establishing his voice as a multidisciplinary creator. Influenced by icons like Prince, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, and Janet Jackson, Daniel’s artistry fuses powerful vocals with captivating performance. As he works on his second studio album, set for release next year, Daniel Gray continues to expand his creative empire while making bold strides in the pop music world.
